Happy Tweetsgiving!: Tweeters Find Unique Way To Give Back
Featured Monday, November 30th, 2009Created by the US nonprofit Epic Change ,Tweetsgiving is a global celebration that seeks to change the world through GRATITUDE and encourages participants to express their thanks using online tools and at live events. Guests are invited to give to a common cause at events held across the globe in honor of the people and things that make them grateful

On Tuesday at the BlackFinn local philanthropist came together to do just that. Social Media Club DC (SMC-DC), Young Association Professionals (YAP), NextGenWeb, and Thankfulfor.com are the partnered together to help promote the technology and social media community.

Last year Tweetsgiving raised over $10,000 to build a school in Tanzania. Washington organizers state that “we have a lot to be thankful for, and hope that the DC area can contribute funds to implement a technology lab at the primary school where last year’s TweetsGiving classroom was built.”
In addition to raising funds for Tweetsgiving, organizers also received small donations items for My Sister’s Place, a local DC women’s shelter.
