The Smithsonian’s American Art Museum’s Annual ARTrageous Benefit
Washington, D.C. Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 en-USOn Saturday February 27, patrons of the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum retreated to the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard for the Museum’s Annual ARTrageous benefit. The night began with an exclusive dinner and discussion with Project Runway contestant Nick Verreos and artist Karen LaMonte, whose artwork Reclining Dress Impression with Drapery was acquired by the museum and on display throughout the evening.

Guests were treated to a lovely dinner buffet, passed hors d’oeuvres, and open bar by Design Cuisine. Both the Washington Post and Nick Verreos (@WashPostFashion and @NickVerreos1) tweeted live from the event as the sounds of Blues Alley got guests moving early on in the evening dancing to the electic slide. A polished intergenerational mix of the fashionable and eclectic, the occasion truley reflected the museums diverse group of supporters. We honed in on Kate Pynoos of the Art museums Junior Leadership Committee draped in a lovely fuschia Isaac Mizrahi original among the attendees. The evening continued with late-night dancing with DJ Menan where guests danced till their feet hurt. Check out more photos here!
