Uncategorized Tuesday, March 30th, 2010
Easter Monday has been an annual Washington-area multicultural tradition for many years. Visitors enjoy a variety of special family activities, entertainment, and special opportunities to learn more about our animals. In addition, the National Zoo offers an array of delicious food. Admission is free, and this fun-filled day traditionally welcomes thousands of area families.
This year the National Zoo is adding a special program developed by the National Museum of African American History and Culture, complete with crafts and on-line family activities that will help us understand the importance of maintaining natural habitats, reducing emissions, and sustainability. Information will also be available about the Museum and its plan to the be the first “green*” museum on the National Mall, as well as ideas on how to recycle, re-use, and conserve within the African American community. Easter Monday will be held rain or shine April 5, 10am-4pm.
