Extra-Ordinary Life targets teen girls, age 13-18, of which there are nearly 330 currently in DC foster care. Working with Child and Family Servicesof the District of Columbia, it identifies program participants via a competitive process.
Many teens languish in foster care for years, moving through multiple placements and lacking a constant caring adult figure in their life. XOL believes these teens need more than life skills workshops to influence their direction in life. They need a non conventional intervention that fuels dreams and creates an eager desire to attain something great in life.
XOL provides the vital exposure, tools, resources and support necessary to help them transcend beyond their current circumstances to become potential leaders, role models and mentors within their own communities and the world.
