On July 15, Scott Abdul-Salaam founder of the ScottCares Foundation and his team traveled to Africa where they adopted the Ashanti Apaah Presbyterian High School. Salaam hopes to provide more stable conditions for the students of Ashanti Apaah and expand their learning abilities with computers and a new library.
“Education breaks the cycle of poverty,” says Abdul-Salaam. “We chose to adopt a school in Africa where the need is greater than the want.” The foundation successfully traveled to Africa with in kind donations and support from its growing membership. Scheduled to take a follow up trip in late December the foundation needs continued support.
